Coursework and Costs

 

Program and License Requirements

 

Our program utilizes a professionally constructed curriculum designed to reach every type of learner.

TOTAL PROGRAM: 500 clock hours of classroom instruction meeting the state requirements,  plus up to 50 hours of clinical, hands-on practice with clients from the general public.

Completion of 500 educational hours: 

  • Anatomy and Physiology:  175  Hours 
  • Massage Technique:  225  Hours 
  • Hydrotherapy:  25  Hours 
  • Health, Hygiene and Infection Control:  25 Hours 
  • Business Law and Ethics:  25 Hours 
  • Other Approved Subjects: 25 Hours
  • Student Clinicals:  Up to 50 hours
  • Current CPR certification – We will provide during your coursework

Once you complete the 500 classroom hours, you will be eligible to take the required national MBLEX Exam. This expense is not included in the price of tuition – https://www.fsmtb.org/mblex/application-process/

After you pass the MBLEX, you will begin applying with the state. That requires taking and passing the Arkansas Law Exam

Your Costs on the Path to Licensure:

After meeting with an admissions counselor and being accepted into the program, you will be given the application packet. A Non-refundable $200 Application Fee is required at the time you submit your application in order to retain your spot in the program.  We are required to submit your documents to the state and pay a fee on your behalf at that time. 

Tuition for the 6 month, 500 hour classroom portion is $6,250 plus the $200 at the time of application. If you are accepted as an apprentice, the classroom tuition is $300 month for 6 months ($1,800 total) and then a commitment to work  24 months of full time employment with a registered sponsor as a paid, licensed apprentice massage therapist. 

Payment plans can be discussed with the director during the applicant interview.

 

 Included in your tuition: We provide each student the with access to study aids and apps specifically aligned with our course curriculum. We enroll each student as a member with AMTA, the largest massage therapist organization in the U.S. and this membership includes student insurance coverage. Textbooks and textbook resources are also included.
